The Texas Legends may be looking to add another big-name guard to its roster. ESPN reports that the Mavericks' D-League affiliate club is making a serious run at signing point guard Allen Iverson, just days after agreeing a deal with former Mavericks guard Delonte West.

According to the report, the Legends are offering Iverson the chance to work his way back into the NBA after one injury-filled season in Turkey, and the chance to work with NBA players like West and guard Rashad McCants are a big part of their pitch. Iverson has been reluctant to accept playing in any league outside of the NBA, but with no GMs in the league interested the Legends may offer the 37-year-old the most direct path back to the big time. Iverson had a glittering NBA career in his prime, winning the 2001 MVP award and making the All-Star game 11 times from 2000-2010. He is 19th on the NBA's all-time scorers list, and has career averages of 26.7 points and 6.2 assists per game.
