Liu ran only a couple hurdles before hunching over in pain Monday. As Liu limped back to the blocks, the crowd started chanting "Liu Xiang, jia you!" (Liu Xiang, add fuel!). His next try was a false start, and his final efforts at another gold medal were dashed.
