At the end of May 2010, Couples competed in his first-ever senior major, the Senior PGA Championship at Colorado Golf Club in Denver, Colorado. Couples made back-to-back eagles on the 15th and 16th holes on Sunday to tie Tom Lehman and David Frost for the lead at the end of regulation. Unfortunately for Freddie, Lehman won the trophy on the first hole of the sudden death playoff with a par.
