My Fave Photos: David Walberg
A gallery of Sports Illustrated photographer David Walberg's favorite images from the 2007 season.
"I climbed to an elevated position on a grandstand behind the 18th green to get this shot of Tiger Woods on the practice green at Doral during the WGC-CA Championship. I used a Canon 15mm full-frame fisheye lens."

"Matt Kuchar hitting his tee shot on the fifth hole at TPC Sugarloaf. I love the tiers of tee boxes and the giant home in the background."

"Camilo Villegas teeing off on the third hole during the fourth round of the BellSouth Classic at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga. No one knew I was there, which is just the way I like it."

"The fisheye again, this time for Nathan Green's chip to the 18th green during the third round of The Players. The camera was mounted on a TV tower behind the grandstands, and I triggered it remotely."

"Rod Pampling did not have much room to line up this putt on the island green. Thankfully, he didn't lose his balance, but if he had it would have made for a once-in-a-lifetime image."

"Woods putting on the famous 17th green at TPC Sawgrass during the second round of the Players Championship. If there was ever a golf location that could be called a stage, this is it. I have been photographing this event for many years, but a newly erected grandstand gave me a different angle this year."

"The view of TPC Sawgrass from the MetLife blimp was spectacular during the final round of the Players Championship. This shot proves that interesting photos are possible even on cloudy days."

"I documented the construction of the new clubhouse at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. I took this shot from a hydraulic lift with a Canon 15mm full-frame fisheye lens. I exaggerated the horizon by tilting the lens down while also taking in the foreground below me."

"Play was suspended during the fourth round of the Verizon Heritage at Harbour Town due to extremely high winds, so I walked around looking for images that showed the damage. As I walked to the clubhouse, I found two caddies Mark Miller and Michael Bestor relaxing on the edge of the practice green. You would think they were out tanning."

"Rory Sabbatini got his share of attention in 2007 for his remarks about Woods, and I felt this image relayed a sense of solitude."

"I again used the 15mm full-frame fisheye lens to capture the entire green and fairway as Woods putted on the 18th at Doral."

"As he hit his tee shot on the 13th at Doral, it was the perfect time to silhouette Woods. The palm trees in the background add a sense of 'Florida.' To get the image, I had to lie down with the camera just inches from the ground."

"What you see are spectators watching Loren Roberts putt during the Boeing Championship at Sandestin, a Champions Tour event. What you don't see is the mother bird who was camera shy in the birdhouse. I waited more than an hour, but I could never get the bird, the golfers and the spectators in the same shot."
