Striker Alvaro Morata injured his knee in his first practice with Juventus on Monday and is out for seven weeks, Brian Homewood of Reuters reports.

Morata just joined Juventus from Real Madrid on Saturday. The Serie A club paid a €20 million ($26.97 million) transfer fee for Morata.

The 21-year-old suffered a "second degree injury to the medial collateral ligament in his left knee," Juventus said in a statement on Tuesday.

Last season, Morata scored eight goals in 23 La Liga appearances.

Morata posted a photo on Instagram on Monday, with the caption, "For those who laugh at the misfortunes of others... a very big kiss and good luck in life!"
