Thursday July 31st, 2014

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says striker Fernando Torres will remain with the English club through the summer transfer window.

Chelsea recently signed strikers Diego Costa and Didier Drogba.

Via Sky Sports:

And when asked whether this one player was Torres, the 51-year-old was quick to confirm the Spain international would be staying at Stamford Bridge:

"No. Three strikers is fundamental in a squad and we have three strikers; Fernando, Didier and Diego so one of them is not going for sure," Mourinho added.

Torres started 17 games and scored five goals in the English Premier League last season as Chelsea finished in third place.

The club is currently on its preseason European tour. They open their Premier League schedule against Burnley on August 18.
