Neymar given medical clearance to play by Barcelona doctors

Barcelona forward Neymar was cleared to play by team doctors after breaking a vertebra in his back during the FIFA World Cup, the team announced Monday.

Neymar was injured when he collided with Colombia defender Juan Camillo Zuniga during Brazil's 2-1 quarterfinal win over Colombia. Barcelona said that Neymar and Xavi Hernández are available to play at Camp Nou on Monday against Club León.

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is also set to play against Club León after the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled last week that he could train and play in friendlies despite his four-month suspension for biting Uruguay defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup.

Barcelona begins its La Liga schedule Sunday against Elche.
