U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard signs book deal

U.S. men's national team and Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has agreed to a book deal, according to the Associated Press.

The book, titled "The Keeper," will be published December 9 and available in adult and young adult versions.

Howard, 35, earned widespread acclaim when he made a World Cup-record 15 saves in the U.S.'s quarterfinal loss to Belgium this summer in Brazil.

USMNT goalie Tim Howard to not retire

Howard, who has started in net for the U.S. for the last seven years, announced last week that he's stepping away from international play for a year.

Howard will continue to play for English club Everton and recently signed a deal to become a color commentator for NBC Sports' coverage of the Premier League.
