LONDON (AP) — Chelsea has signed Loic Remy as a backup striking option from Queens Park Rangers after offloading Fernando Torres to AC Milan.

The France international joined Chelsea on a four-year contract after QPR said its London rival activated the player's release clause.

Torres on Friday joined Milan on a two-year loan that takes him to the end of his Chelsea contract.
