Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany's calf injury not serious

Belgium coach Marc Wilmots said midfielder Vincent Kompany's calf injury is not serious, The Guardian reports.

Kompany, who is Manchester City's captain, was injured while training with Belgium and will take a fitness test before a decision is made about his playing status for Thursday's friendly against Australia.

Wilmot announced the update to Kompany's health status on Wednesday.

“Good news for Vincent Kompany, he will do light training tomorrow and we will then see whether he can play. Without taking any risk of course!"

Kompany has been injured 21 times since he moved to City in 2008. City has upcoming matches against Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Chelsea.
