D.C. United has signed free agent midfielder/defender Samuel Inkoom of Ghana.

D.C. United has signed free agent midfielder/defender Samuel Inkoom of Ghana, the team announced Friday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Inkoom was a member of Ghana's 2010 and 2014 World Cup teams but did not play in the 2014 tournament. He has made 46 appearances with the Black Stars.

The 25-year-old has been a member of Ukrainian club Dnipro since 2011, but spent 2013 on loan with French club Bastia and part of 2014 on loan with Greek club Platanias. 

“We are pleased to be adding an experienced player in Samuel who will provide us solid depth at the wide midfield and outside back positions,” said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. “We welcome Samuel to the D.C. United family.”
