Aston Villa announced that it has extended manager Paul Lambert's contract through the end of the 2017-18 season.

The English club is second in the English Premier League table with 10 points after winning three of its first four matches.

Aston Villa posted two 15th place finishes in its first two seasons under Lambert. He was hired in June 2012.
