Spanish club Real Sociedad has hired David Moyes to be its new manager, the club announced Monday. Moyes' contract runs through June 30, 2016.

Moyes was fired as Manchester United's manager in April after just ten months with the club. He had previously managed Everton from 2002 to 2013.

Sociedad fired its manager, Jagoba Arrasate, on Nov. 2, after earning just nine points in its first 11 games. Moyes was immediately linked to the vacancy.
