Orlando City SC has signed Brazilian defender Gustavo Silva Conceição, the club announced Monday

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gustavo, a center back comes to the MLS expansion franchise after seven years in Brazil's top division. The 28-year-old notably played three seasons with Flamengo.

"We’re very pleased that Gustavo has joined the Club," team head coach Adrian Heath said, according to Orlando City's announcement. "He’s a tough and willing defender who we believe will be a fantastic complement to our existing core."

Gustavo derives his nickname "Geladeira" -- which translates to "The Refrigerator" -- from his 6-foot-1, 198-pound frame. The defender -- who assumes the team's fifth international slot -- is the latest signing for the Lions, who will make their MLS debut in March.

Orlando City will play its first MLS match on Sunday, March 8 against fellow expansion club New York City FC.
