Gomis, Carroll trade goals as West Ham draws with Swansea City in EPL

SWANSEA, Wales (AP) — Bafetimbi Gomis filled in for Wilfried Bony by creating the equalizer for Swansea in a 1-1 draw against West Ham on Saturday.

Gomis' strong header was turned into the net by West Ham's Mark Noble in the 74th minute after Andy Carroll had put the visitors ahead in the 43rd.

Carroll scored with a spectacular shot into the top corner but it wasn't enough as West Ham stayed seventh, three points outside the top four.

Gomis celebrated the equalizer by running to the home bench and collecting a French flag which he held aloft to honor those who lost their lives in the Paris terrorist attacks this week.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce missed the trip with a chest infection.

Bony is on international duty at the African Cup of Nations, and is expected to complete a move to Manchester City.
