Arsenal’s Alexis Sánchez (hamstring) out vs. Tottenham
Arsenal forward Alexis Sánchez will not play in Saturday’s English Premier League match against Tottenham because of a hamstring injury, the club announced.
He did not play in Sunday’s 5-0 victory over Aston Vila because of the injury.
Sánchez, 26, has 12 goals and seven assists in 21 Premier League matches this season.
“The latest is that Alexis is not ready,” Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger told the club’s website. “He is not far away, the Leicester game [at home next Tuesday] is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet.”
Wenger said that Sánchez is doing “light training” in an effort to get back on the field.
The team also said that midfielder Jack Wilshere is back to training and midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is remains out.
Arsenal is in fifth place in the Premier League standings through 23 matches, two points ahead of North London rival Tottenham.
