Manchester City entered Saturday in second place in the English Premier League, trailing Chelsea by five points. Although City did drop two points after its 1-1 draw with Hull, it could have been worse if not for a beautfiul James Milner free kick.
The 29-year-old midfielder approached the ball 25 yards from goal with his team down 1-0 in stoppage time. Milner bent his shot wickedly around the wall and past a helpless Allan McGregor in net for the late equalizer.
City fell behind 35 minutes in after David Meyler struck for 17th-place Hull and never really looked like its normally dominant self. The Milner strike salvaged a point for the defending league champions, who now sit seven-points behind Chelsea after the Blues defeated Aston Villa 2-1.
