Manchester City vs. Barcelona

Manchester City earned its place in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League by finishing second in Group E, while Barcelona won Group F to advance to the round of 16.

Barcelona makes its 11th straight appearance in the round of 16 and has advanced to the quarterfinals the last seven seasons.

The teams meet for the second year in a row in the first round of the knockout stage. Last year Barcelona advanced 4-1 on aggregate.

In domestic play, Manchester City is currently in second place of the English Premier League, seven points behind leader Chelsea. Barcelona is one point behind Real Madrid in La Liga.
