Philadelphia will host 2015 Gold Cup Final
CONCACAF has scheduled a March 12 press conference to announce that Philadelphia will host the Gold Cup Final.
Jonathan Tannenwald of Philly.com reported last month that the championship round will be played on the last weekend in July at Lincoln Financial Field, which is home to the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles.
Tannenwald also reported that the semifinals will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, while Atlanta and Baltimore will share hosting duties of the quarterfinals.
The United States is the defending champion in the event, beating Panama in the 2013 championship match. The U.S. men's national team is in Group A for the 2015 tournament with matches in Frisco, Texas; Foxborough, Mass.; and Kansas City, Kan.
If the U.S. successfully defends its title, it will earn a spot in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia. If the U.S. loses, it will face the winner in a playoff for the Confederations Cup spot.
