Croatia routs Norway 5-1 in Euro 2016 qualification match

ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) — Croatia convincingly beat Norway 5-1 in a European Championship qualifier Saturday.

The Croats took the lead in the 30th minute on a low curving shot by Marcelo Brozovic from 20 meters (yards) as the ball went into the bottom right corner.

Ivan Perisic made it 2-0 after a neat one-two with Ivan Rakitic and another low shot from inside the box in the 54th.

Ivica Olic, playing his 101st match for Croatia, netted in the 66th from close rnage for 3-0.

Norway's Alexander Tettey cut Croatia's lead to 3-1 in the 81st.

Defenders Gordon Schildenfeld and Danijel Pranjiic added two late goals for Croatia which played the last 20 minutes without red-carded Vedran Corluka.

Tarik Elyounoussi failed to score for Norway from a penalty in the 69th.
