Harry Kane nets 30th goal as Tottenham topples Newcastle United

NEWCASTLE, England (AP) — Harry Kane scored his 30th goal of a remarkable breakthrough season for Tottenham on Sunday, completing a 3-1 victory over Newcastle.

The 21-year-old striker accepted Erik Lamela's pass in stoppage time to round off a lightening break.

It came after Christian Eriksen had restored Tottenham's lead shortly after the second half opened with Jack Colback canceling out Nacer Chadli's first-half goal for Tottenham.

Thousands of Newcastle fans stayed away in protest at owner Mike Ashley's ownership and the team is now only seven points clear of the bottom three.

Tottenham is sixth, seven points behind Manchester City in the fourth and final Champions League qualification place.
