Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard joined the Barclays Premier League's exclusive 500-game club Saturday, as Liverpool took on West Bromwich Albion.

The former England star is bound for Major League Soccer's Los Angeles Galaxy after this season. Gerrard, 34, has scored 117 goals in 500 BPL appearances, and assisted on 92 scores. Now in his 17th season with Liverpool, he's logged 40,783 regular-season minutes for the club.

Gerrard becomes the 12th player to log 500 Premier League matches, a group led by former Manchester United stalwart Ryan Giggs (632 caps).

The rest of the club includes some familiar names: Frank Lampard, David James, Gareth Barry, Gary Speed, Emile Heskey, Jamie Carragher, Mark Schwarzer, Phil Neville, Sol Campbell and Rio Ferdinand.

Liverpool and West Brom drew 0-0.
