The San Jose Earthquakes home, Avaya Stadium, will host the 2016 MLS All-Star Game, reports SBI Soccer.

According to the report, an official announcement is expected on Thursday.

Avaya Stadium opened in March and has a seating capacity of 18,000. SBI Soccer reports that the Earthquakes had hoped to host this year's All-Star Game, but it was awarded to the Colorado Rapids instead.

The game at Avaya Stadium will be the first MLS All-Star Game held in California since the 2003 game was held at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

The 2014 game was won by the MLS All-Stars 2–1 over Bayern Munich.
