The U.S. women's national team will play two friendlies after the Women's World Cup against Costa Rica.
The U.S. women's national team will play two friendlies in August against Costa Rica, following the conclusion of the Women's World Cup, the team announced Wednesday.
The matches will be Aug. 16 in Pittsburgh and Aug. 19 in Chattanooga. Tickets for both games go on sale July 1.
The U.S. women will play China in the World Cup quarterfinals on Friday in Ottawa. The championship game is scheduled for July 5 in Vancouver.
The USWNT has played once before at Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, a 3–0 win over Iceland in 2004. The team has also made one prior visit to Chattanooga's Finley Stadium in 1997, shortly after the stadium opened.
Costa Rica was eliminated in the group stage of the World Cup after finishing third in Group E. It was the team's first Women's World Cup appearance.
