Honduras scores late to earn draw against Panama in Gold Cup

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Andy Ariel Najar scored in the 82nd minute to help Honduras earn a 1-1 draw with Panama on Friday night in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Luis Carlos Tejada scored in the 21st minute for Panama, knocking the ball in with his chest from six yards out after a cross deflected off Honduras goalkeeper Donis Escober. It stayed that way until the 82nd minute, when Najar's penalty kick was deflected by goalkeeper Jaime Penedo off the crossbar; Najar got his own rebound and converted.

Panama has two points with one game remaining in group play, against the United States on Monday in Kansas City. Honduras is in last place in the group with one point heading into its group stage finale against Haiti.
