Fight breaks out in crowd before Red Bulls, New York City FC match

Sunday August 9th, 2015

The third edition of the Hudson Derby is scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m., but tempers are already flaring between fans of the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC.

A couple hours ahead of Sunday's match, Associated Press reporter Rob Harris captured a massive fight amongst a crowd outside of Bello's Pub and Grill, which is about a five-minute drive from Red Bull Arena, where Sunday's match is being played.

Harris captured punches being thrown and even a sign being used as a weapon before police arrived on scene. On Bello's website, it is described as a "perfect place to...warm up for a soccer match at Red Bull Arena."

Harris reported having to avoid "flying glass bottles" during the fight.
