Liverpool will be without captain Jordan Henderson, who suffered a broken foot, for two months.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson broke his right foot and will miss up to eight weeks, according to BBC.
The 25-year-old sustained the foot injury during practice on Friday, and is expected to have surgery on Monday.
The midfielder confirmed the news on Twitter.
“Very disappointed and frustrated with the injury setback but will work hard to be back as quickly as possible,” Henderson tweeted on Saturday. “Will be supporting the team in every way I can while I'm unable to play. Thanks for all of your support.”
Henderson hasn’t played since Aug. 17, when he exited with a left heel injury after 52 minutes on the pitch. The two injuries are not related.
Henderson scored six goals in the Premier League last season.
