Portland Timbers supporters greeted their team at the airport on Monday after the club won its first MLS Cup over the Columbus Crew on Sunday.

Portland had never won a league championship, dating back to the previous Timbers franchise of the NASL. Sunday’s 2–1 win came a little more than four years after the Timbers joined MLS.

The team arrived at Portland International Airport from Ohio on Monday afternoon, shortly before 4 p.m. local time. A large crowd gathered at the airport to greet the players as they brought the cup home.
