Days after disturbing details about Peter Nowak's tenure as manager of the Philadelphia Union emerged, the 51-year-old has been hired by Polish club Lechia Gdansk as the team's new coach.

Nowak, among other things, hazed and beat players, withheld water during lengthy runs in hot temperatures and criticized players for not playing through concussions, according to court documents released last week. Nowak had filed a lawsuit against the Union for wrongful termination after he was fired in 2012. On Tuesday, a federal judge upheld the arbitrator's ruling against Nowak and in favor of the Union, closing the case.

Nowak takes over a team in his native country that sits 10th in the top flight.
