U.S. men's national team forward Bobby Wood continued his strong season for Union Berlin Friday, scoring an 86th-minute goal against Kaiserslautern to force a 2-2 draw and salvage a point for his 2. Bundesliga team in a mid-table clash.
Wood split a pair of defenders on two occasions in tight spaces before finding space near post to sneak in a shot from the left, with the goalkeeper cheating way off the post. The goal was Wood's eighth of the season–his first of 2016–and it capped a comeback from a 2-0 deficit on the road. Like three of his four goals for the U.S. men's national team have been, this one came in the dying minutes of the game with the result in the balance.
