Watch: Barcelona’s Luis Suarez nails behind-the-goal trick shot

Wednesday March 9th, 2016

FC Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has been unstoppable in La Liga this season, currently sitting in second in goals scored with 26, one behind Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. So when he and center back Gerard Pique decided to face off in a trick shot competition, the odds were always in Suarez’s favor.

The game was to see who could score the most goals, attempting the shot from well behind the goal. Each player had four shots, and it only took Suarez two attempts to find the back of the net. Unfortunately for Pique, he just couldn’t find a way to curve the ball enough to get it into the goal.

To Pique’s credit, it did look like his first attempt at the shot had a chance of going in.

It would be interesting to see Suarez take on Lionel Messi in this same competition. Just a month ago, Messi scored a similar goal with little effort during training. Suarez’s shot came from a more difficult angle, but you have to figure Messi would give his teammate a challenge.
