Chelsea will play Real Madrid in an International Champions Cup game on July 30 at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, the university announced.
Michigan Stadium previously hosted an exhibition game between Manchester United and Real Madrid that drew 109,318 people in attendance, which is a record for a soccer game on U.S. soil.
"We look forward to passing that number in July of this year," Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel told reporters on Thursday. “It's an exciting opportunity for our community and soccer fans everywhere.”
The game comes as part of the International Champions Cup, which will also feature Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain at Ohio Stadium (July 27), Chelsea vs. Liverpool at the Rose Bowl (July 27), Chelsea vs. AC Milan at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis (Aug. 3). Real Madrid will also play Bayern Munich on Aug. 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.
Tickets start for the game at Michigan Stadium at $55 and will go on sale to the public at 8:30 a.m. ET on April 5.
