Liverpool’s Christian Benteke will miss at least month after damaging his lateral collateral ligament while playing for Belgium, according to Tony Barett of The Times.

The striker may return in May but it may be too late to salvage his season after several injury setbacks and struggling to work with manager Jürgen Klopp.

“When your coach says he wanted to take you to Dortmund and a little later you sit at the same club and he ignores you it is hard to understand,” Benteke said of Klopp in Belgium’s Voetbalmagazine.

Benteke has seven goals and two assists in 25 Premier League matches.
