Beyer Leverkusen star Javier Hernandez scored in the 44th minute to give his team a 2–0 lead over FC Koln going into halftime Sunday.

As the teams were getting ready to head into the break, Leverkusen went on the attack, moving the ball up to the left side of the box. Julian Brandt then threaded a pass into Karim Bellarabi who laid off a perfect ball to Hernandez. All Hernandez had to do was strike the ball from just inside the six-yard box for the score.

The goal was Hernandez's 25th in all competitions this season. Leverkusen is currently fifth in the Bundesliga standings.
