Carli Lloyd leaves game with apparent knee injury, will undergo MRI
Houston Dash and U.S. women’s national team midfielder Carli Lloyd sustained an apparent right knee injury during an NWSL game against the Orlando Pride on Saturday and will undergo an MRI on Sunday.
Lloyd went down with a non-contact injury in the fourth minute and was lifted in the 13th minute after trying to play through the injury.
Thank you all for the support. This won't stop me. Will get an MRI and go from there. I will be okay. 👍🏼💪🏼👊🏼— Carli Lloyd (@CarliLloyd) April 24, 2016
A significant injury would put Lloyd’s status for this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio in jeopardy.
Lloyd, 33, helped the United States to its third World Cup in 2015, scoring a hat trick in the opening 16 minutes of the final game against Japan.
