There is a pool of $21.5 million that will be spread across the eight teams who make it out of the knockout stage.
There is a nice financial incentive for teams who get out of the Copa America Centenario group stage.
Of the $21.5 million in total prize money for next month's competition, $6.5 million will go to the winner while each of the quarterfinalists will get at least $1.5 million, tournament organizers said on Tuesday.
There's not that big a difference between silver and bronze, with the runner-up taking home $3.5 million while the third-place finisher wins $3 million. There are mild stakes for the third-place game, with the fourth-place finisher earning $2.5 million.
The four other teams that get out of the group stage and reach the quarterfinals will each net $1.5 million.
