Barcelona has confirmed that right back Dani Alves will be leaving the club this summer.

“This is personal decision that the club has to accept,” said the club’s sporting director Roberto Fernandez. “At right back we have confidence in Aleix Vidal, he was signed for that reason. We also have Sergi Roberto.”

Alves, a Brazil native, reached a one-year contract extension with Barcelona at the end of last season. He has spent the last eight seasons with Barca and made 391 appearances for the club during that stretch.

Alves, who has been linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Manchester United, is one of the most accomplished players in the history of the sport. He has won three Champions Leagues, six La Liga trophies and four Copa del Rey titles in his career.
