Midfielder Dimitri Payet was the undisputed star of France’s Euro 2016 opening win against Romania.

Payet assisted on Olivier Giroud’s goal, then broke a 1–1 tie late in the match with a curling strike from beyond the box, delivering the host country a much-needed victory and a huge sigh of relief.

There was more than just a goal and an assist — Payet had a number of impressive moments throughout the night building up to the big strike.
