Host country France takes on Romania on Friday in the opening match of Euro 2016.

The European championships open with a Group A match at the Stade de France. Albania and Switzerland round out the group and will open their tournaments on Saturday.

France, led by dynamic midfielder Paul Pogba, is widely considered one of the favorites to win the tournament. France made the quarterfinals of the 2014 World Cup, losing to Germany 1–0.
