A Northern Ireland fan died during the country’s match against Ukraine on Thursday.

He was 64.

Nearly 50 minutes into the game, the fan collapsed and stopped breathing, reports Belfast Live. An emergency medical team responded to the situation but could not resuscitate the fan. He was removed from the stadium and pronounced dead shortly after.

“Our thoughts are tragically with a second family this week mourning the devastating loss of their loved one,” a spokesman from the Northern Ireland police said. “We have been liaising with French Authorities and local PSNI officers have been in touch with the man's family in Belfast.”

Another Northern Ireland fan died earlier this week after accidentally falling from a wall.
