Peralta, Torres, Lozano headline Mexico's Olympic roster
Oribe Peralta is one of three overage players, and Hirving Lozano and Erick "Cubo" Torres lead the attack as Mexico has named the 18-player squad that will defend the nation's gold medal this summer in Rio.
Mexico beat Brazil for Olympic gold in London four years ago and will aim to pip the hosts on the medal podium again. In addition to Peralta, fullback Jorge Torres Nilo and goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera are the overage players selected by El Tri Under-23 manager Raul Gutierrez. Former Real Salt Lake center back Carlos Salcedo and his Chivas de Guadalara teammate, forward Marco Bueno, have also made the squad, which will play Germany, South Korea and Fiji in group play.
Pachuca supplies the most players to the team, which is all Liga MX-based save for Torres, with five.
Lozano, Talavera, Torres Nilo and Peralta all played for Mexico at Copa America.
