David Beckham has reached out to Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic about joining his proposed Miami MLS club.
David Beckham has reached out to new Manchester United signing and star forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic about joining his proposed Miami MLS club, the striker told Goal.
He also wouldn’t rule out the MLS in his future.
“David [Beckham] is a good friend of mine, and he has asked me to play for his [Miami] team,” Ibrahimovic said. “For now, I want to achieve big things with Manchester United, but I have a lot of respect for the MLS, and anything is possible.”
Beckham has remained firm in his commitment to bring an MLS franchise to Miami as part of the league’s expansion, and his team will become a reality once its stadium situation is resolved. The former soccer star leads an ownership group called “Miami Beckham United,” which includes Simon Fuller, Marcelo Claure and Tim Leiweke.
Ibrahimovic, 34, has enjoyed a long and successful career, spending time with Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus and most recently Paris Saint-Germain, where he was teammates with Beckham.
