The Colombian signs a five-year deal with Manchester City but will spend next season in La Liga.
MANCHESTER, England (AP) — Manchester City has signed another young South American forward, bringing in Colombia international Marlos Moreno on a five-year deal.
City announced the arrival of the 19-year-old Moreno in the same week the English club signed Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus, who is also rated as one of the continent's best young attackers. City said Saturday that Moreno, the seventh offseason signing under Pep Guardiola, will be loaned to Spanish team Deportivo La Coruna for the upcoming season.
No transfer fee was disclosed.
Moreno starred for Atletico National in the team's Copa Libertadores-winning campaign last season. He is in Colombia's squad at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
