French soccer team to honor victims of Nice terrorism attack
Ligue 1 club OGC Nice will honor the victims of the Bastille Day truck attack in the city that left 85 people dead.
The attack occurred on July 14 when a truck ran through a group of people who had gathered to watch fireworks. The attacker reportedly opened fire on the crowd and was shot to death by police.
For Sunday’s season opener against Stade Rennais, Nice will wear jerseys with the names of the victims forming a heart.
Last November, following terror attacks in Paris, Ligue 1 clubs Paris Saint-Germain and Saint Etienne wore special jerseys honoring the victims.
