Video: Suns' Archie Goodwin has shot of Summer League wiped out by referee

LAS VEGAS -- Suns guard Archie Goodwin hit the best shot of the 2013 Las Vegas summer league, only to have it wiped out by the officials.

With a little more than two minutes remaining in the second quarter of Sunday's semifinal game against the Heat, Goodwin circled into the paint on an inbounds play. Kendall Marshall lofted a pass high and Goodwin, a 2013 first-round pick out of Kentucky, rose high to catch the pass with his right hand. Rather than gather the ball, Goodwin simply pushed it back in the direction of the hoop as he fell to the ground, knocked out of the air by Heat guard D.J. Kennedy.

The shot banked in cleanly but the officials ruled that Goodwin was fouled before he attempted the shot. He was awarded two free throws.

Phoenix, 5-0 in summer league play entering Sunday, took a 51-37 halftime over the Heat into halftime.

Goodwin had seven points and three rebounds in the first half. Miami's James Ennis led all scorers with 17 first-half points.
