Less than a week since Adam Silver handed Donald Sterling a lifetime ban and the NBA's owners began the process of ousting the Los Angeles Clippers owner, reports are beginning to circulate that Sterling won't go quietly into the night.

In a report from TMZ Sports, Sterling is apparently exploring his options for representation before filing a lawsuit against the league:

Donald Sterling is on the hunt to hire a major L.A. law firm to sue the NBA for suspending him and attempting to strip him of ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Sterling's people were in touch with several law firms last week, including the powerhouse firm Glaser Weil. Patty Glaser is one of the top litigators in the country and has repped scores of celebs, including Conan O'Brien and Keith Olbermann.

Since Silver announced Sterling's ban, it has been widely believed that Sterling would stick to his reputation as an aggressive litigator and fight the league's decision. The 81-year-old is reportedly set on going to court despite a mountain of detractors and his deteriorating health. It was reported last week that the disgraced owner is currently battling cancer.

At the moment, the league's owners have not yet voted on whether to strip Sterling of the franchise, but various reports have pegged the vote as potentially unanimous, and the first step was taken with the NBA advisory committee unanimously moving forward in the process. Adam Silver and company need only a two-thirds majority in order to oust the long-time Clippers owner, and all indications are that they will get the votes.
