The Colorado Avalanche are back in the hockey history books. Last night, they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in a tight Game 6 to win the Stanley Cup. It was just a 2-to-1 game, which ultimately ended with cheers for Colorado.
In fact, this is the only third time the Avalanche have won the Stanley Cup. Making this even more historic is that by beating the Lightning, they bumped the team that won it in 2020 and 2021. The last time the Avalanche were Stanley Cup champions was in 2001.
