Samsung’s latest summer surprise is a fresh, lovely shade. While the Samsung Galaxy S22 already comes in a plethora of colors (including violet), it now comes in “Bora Purple,” and there is an obvious easter egg in the product name.
“Bora” in Korean translates to purple, so this new color option for the Galaxy S22 means purple, purple. And like any other Galaxy S22, the Bora Purple shade features a 6.1-inch AMOLED display that gets plenty bright and is super vibrant.
The back of the device features the triple main camera system in the top left, while the rest is a matte glass finish in the pastel purple. The aluminum sides of the device have a lavender hue to them as well.
So yes, it is indeed a purple Galaxy S22, and Samsung feels it’s so nice that they named it twice. The Galaxy S22 should deliver a fast experience thanks to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor inside and for $799.99 it will feature 128GB of internal storage.
Samsung’s Galaxy S22 in Bora Purple lands on August 10, 2022 for $799 and joins the other colors: Violet, Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, Cream, Pink Gold, Graphite and Sky Blue.
If August 10 rings a bell, that’s because it’s also the day of Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked. During the event, the tech giant is rumored to be announcing a new Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Fold, a pair of Galaxy Buds and a new smartwatch. In fact, thanks to a pre-reserve deal Samsung’s even confirmed that there will at least be a phone, a pair of earbuds and a smartwatch.
