Jason Heyward versus the bees

In the latest of a series of spring training bee incidents, Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward was stung over 10 times by a swarm of bees yesterday. He even tried to jump over the fence to escape them! Living well is the best revenge, though, and Heyward came back to swat a home run in spite of the pain:

The Atlanta Braves have released outfielder Nick Swisher, the team announced Monday.

The 35-year-old Swisher is still owed $16 million for the 2016 season by Atlanta and Cleveland, which traded him to the Braves last year.

In just 76 games last season, Swisher batted .196 with six home runs and 25 RBIs. He was hampered by injuries over the past two seasons.

For his career, the veteran is a .249 hitter with 245 home runs and 803 RBIs.

Swisher was an All-Star in 2010 and World Series champion with the New York Yankees in 2009.

He is currently a free agent.

The WNBA has unveiled new uniforms for its 20th season, the league announced Monday.

For the landmark season, all teams in the league will eliminate their traditional white jerseys and replace them with the colorful additions.

The league also announced Monday that the inaugural WNBA teams–the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury and Los Angeles Sparks–will wear “team-specific 20th season patches,” while all 12 squads will wear the 20th season commemorative logo on their jersey backs.

A special edition 20th season basketball will also go on sale at the start of the campaign, as will a limited edition adidas shoe inspired by the commemorative logo.
