Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach scored two touchdowns in the final minutes of the fourth quarter, leading his team to a 35-34 victory against the Redskins in the final 2:20 of the game in Texas Stadium. The win allowed the Cowboys to steal away a NFC East title and a spot in the playoffs from the Redskins.

Down 23-17 to the Redskins, rookie quarterback Clint Longley came in for an injured Roger Staubach and threw two touchdown passes, including a game-winning 50-yard pass to Drew Pearson in the final minute.

1993 NFC Championship Game
Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson confidently proclaimed that, "We will win the ballgame, and you can put that in three-inch bold headlines." The Cowboys led the 49ers 28-7 at halftime, having scored touchdowns on four of their first five possessions, and withstood the loss of quarterback Troy Aikman to a concussion in the third quarter to hang on for a 38-21 victory. The Cowboys would go on to win their second straight Super Bowl.
